India

We landed in Bangalore, India this morning around 4am local time. We had a long taxi ride to our hotel, and it was a very interesting drive. I was overcome with such excitement to finally be here. I am finally in India! We have been planning this trip since February, and it is finally here! Praise God!

As we drove down the highway, and through the city of Bangalore, I had some mixed emotions about it. It was very cool, and very interesting to be seeing this place so different from what I am used to seeing in Pennsylvania. It was thrilling to be in a world that I had only ever seen in movies. It was as though I, myself was in a movie! I loved that feeling.

But at the same time, I was struck with sadness, seeing the living conditions of many of the places we drove past. I had seen poverty in movies, and some places of poverty in America, but this was so much different. It was incredible how real it was.

We will be here in Bangalore until tomorrow morning. We will leave here at 9am local time and head for Carmel. I cannot wait to get there.
