I stepped off the Metro at the appropriately named "Colleseo" stop and there it was! As soon as you get out of the station, the Roman Coliseum is just standing right there! I'm sure I was the typical tourist that was just not even looking where I was walking...just staring at the building.
It was so awesome. I loved being there. We got to go in and walk around...which was incredible. We saw things that were 2000 years old! This is stuff that Jesus was talking about when he talked about Rome!
Yesterday we got to see the Sistene Chapel! I told Zay that when we go to Disney...and we see the guy on Spaceship Earth painting the Sistene Chapel, she can say she saw the REAL THING!
We walked to the Trevi Fountain...which was super cool....
ALL THIS STUFF! All this incredible stuff and while I was walking back to the bus yesterday I thought "I can't wait for India!" (Luckily I don't have to wait too long, we leave for the airport in 24 hours!)
When we planned the stopover in Rome, I mistakenly thought that I would stop thinking about India for 4 days. No chance! As a matter of fact, I think I am thinking about India more over the past 4 days than before. I feel like I'm so close but not able to get there yet. Like something amazing is going to happen but I'm just not allowed to see it yet.
Don't get me wrong...I LOVED LOVED LOVED everything that we have done. I wouldn't trade it for anything....I'm just ready for the main event!
